Max Herre & Joy Denalane in Leverkusen

Max Herre is a German rapper, singer-songwriter and producer, born in Stuttgart in 1973. He became known as the frontman of Freundeskreis through songs including “A-N-N-A” and the album Esperanto, then built a solo catalogue that includes Hallo Welt! and the Philipp Poisel collaboration “Wolke 7.” In 2013, Max Herre recorded MTV Unplugged Kahedi Radio Show at Funkhaus Berlin, performing with the Kahedi Radio Orchestra and guests including Joy Denalane, Samy Deluxe and Gentleman. Four years later, he reunited with Freundeskreis for concerts marking two decades since the group’s debut album, including an open-air performance at Cannstatter Wasen.

Joy Denalane is a German soul and R&B singer-songwriter, born in Berlin in 1973. She first became widely known through “Mit dir,” her duet with Freundeskreis, before establishing her solo career with the album Mamani. Her catalogue also includes Born & Raised, Maureen, Gleisdreieck and the Motown release Let Yourself Be Loved. Mamani Live documents the full-band concert setting of her early solo work. Later tours drew on Born & Raised, Maureen and Gleisdreieck, and she also appeared as a guest vocalist in Max Herre’s MTV Unplugged Kahedi Radio Show.
