Maysa is the professional name of American jazz and soul singer Maysa Leak, who was born in Baltimore in 1966. She is known for her long association with the British band Incognito, singing on recordings including “Don’t You Worry ’Bout a Thing,” “Still a Friend of Mine” and “Deep Waters.” Her solo discography began with the album Maysa in 1995 and later included Blue Velvet Soul.

In the early 1990s, Maysa toured as a member of Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove before joining Incognito. She subsequently performed both with Incognito and under her own name, building a concert repertoire around her solo work and songs recorded with the band. Her solo appearances have included repeated engagements at The Birchmere in Alexandria and performances at Capital Jazz Fest.
