Medicine Head in London

Medicine Head are a British blues-rock group formed in Stafford in 1968 by singer-guitarist John Fiddler and harmonica player Peter Hope-Evans. Initially a stripped-down duo, they recorded for John Peel’s Dandelion label and became known for songs including “One and One Is One,” “Rising Sun” and “Pictures in the Sky,” as well as the debut album New Bottles Old Medicine. In 1972, Medicine Head supported T. Rex at the Wembley Empire Pool concerts filmed for Born to Boogie. The group later added musicians including drummer Rob Townsend and guitarist Roger Saunders, and that expanded lineup performed at Reading Festival in 1973.
