Michael Mittermeier is a German stand-up comedian and writer, born in Dorfen, Bavaria, in 1966. He became widely known through Zapped!, a stage programme built around television and popular culture, and followed it with shows including Back to Life, Paranoid, Safari and Achtung Baby! He toured Zapped! in the late 1990s, then took his successive solo programmes through theatres and arenas across the German-speaking world. He later performed English-language stand-up at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and presented A German on Safari at Leicester Square Theatre in London.
