Michael W. Smith is an American singer, songwriter and keyboardist, born in Kenova, West Virginia, in 1957. His contemporary Christian pop and worship catalogue includes “Friends,” “Place in This World” and “Great Is the Lord,” as well as the albums Michael W. Smith Project, Worship and Worship Again.
Michael W. Smith toured as Amy Grant’s keyboardist in the early 1980s, before establishing his own concert career. The pair returned to the road for the 2 Friends Tour in 2010, revisiting songs from both catalogues. He later toured a Christmas program with Amy Grant, pairing seasonal repertoire with their established material.
