Michelle David & The True-tones are a Dutch-American soul band formed in Amsterdam around singer Michelle David and guitarists Onno Smit and Paul Willemsen. Their music draws on gospel, rhythm and blues, funk and classic soul. Initially billed as Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, they recorded the Gospel Sessions album series before adopting their present name and releasing Truth & Soul. Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions toured European clubs and festivals and performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival. After the name change, the group carried its full-band soul show into a 2022 festival run that included Pinkpop.
