Midge Ure is a Scottish singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer, born in Cambuslang in 1953. He is best known as the lead singer of Ultravox on songs including “Vienna” and “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes,” and for his solo single “If I Was.” He was also a member of Visage and co-wrote “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” with Bob Geldof. In 1985, Midge Ure performed with Ultravox at Wembley Stadium during Live Aid, the benefit concert he helped organise. Two decades later, he played the Edinburgh concert in the Live 8 series at Murrayfield Stadium. The 1980 Tour subsequently revisited the debut album by Visage and early Ultravox material in theatre shows.
