Mikhail Shufutinsky is a Russian singer, pianist and producer, born in Moscow in 1948, whose repertoire is rooted in Russian chanson and estrada. He is known for songs including “Tretye sentyabrya,” “Palma de Mallorca,” “Nochnoy gost” and “Yevreysky portnoy,” as well as the album “Pobeg.”

After emigrating to the United States in 1981, Mikhail Shufutinsky performed for Russian-speaking audiences in New York and Los Angeles, including work with the ensemble Ataman. In 1990 he returned to the Soviet Union for his first concert tour there since emigrating. His later solo programs included performances at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall and the State Kremlin Palace.
