Minus the Bear is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 2001. Their music combines indie and alternative rock with math-rock guitar patterns and electronic textures. The band is known for albums including Highly Refined Pirates, Menos el Oso and Planet of Ice, as well as songs such as “Pachuca Sunrise,” “The Fix” and “Knights.” The Menos el Oso tenth-anniversary tour in 2015 brought the album to clubs and theatres in full. Three years later, Minus the Bear undertook a farewell tour that ended with three hometown concerts at the Showbox.
