Mobb Deep & Havoc in Ottawa

Mobb Deep were an American hip-hop duo formed in Queens, New York, in 1990 by rappers and producers Havoc and Prodigy. Their hard-edged East Coast rap is represented by the albums The Infamous, Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik, as well as the songs “Shook Ones, Pt. II” and “Survival of the Fittest.” In 2011, Mobb Deep toured clubs and theatres performing their 1995 album in full, then reunited for an anniversary tour in 2013 and mounted a North American tour the following year. A 2015 run marked the record’s twentieth anniversary and included a show at Glasgow’s O2 ABC. The duo performed in Las Vegas in 2017 before Prodigy’s death later that year.

Havoc is an American rapper and producer raised in Queensbridge, New York, best known as one half of Mobb Deep with Prodigy. His stark production and measured delivery shaped the duo’s albums The Infamous, Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik, including the tracks “Shook Ones, Pt. II” and “Survival of the Fittest.” His solo catalogue began with The Kush. Mobb Deep joined the 1996 Smokin’ Grooves tour alongside Cypress Hill, the Fugees and A Tribe Called Quest. After a brief split, the 2013 reunion put Havoc and Prodigy back onstage for Mobb Deep’s 20th Anniversary Tour.
