Modest Mouse is an American indie-rock band formed in Issaquah, Washington, in 1993 by Isaac Brock, Jeremiah Green and Eric Judy. Their best-known records include The Lonesome Crowded West, The Moon & Antarctica and Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which contains “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty”; “Dashboard” followed on We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Modest Mouse joined R.E.M. for part of the Around the Sun tour in 2004. In 2022, the band toured The Lonesome Crowded West for its 25th anniversary and performed the album in full, then co-headlined North American dates with Pixies in 2023 and returned for another joint run in 2024. The 2024 Good News for People Who Love Bad News anniversary tour again built the set around a complete album performance.
Caroline Rose is an American singer-songwriter and producer whose music moved from the country and folk leanings of I Will Not Be Afraid toward the indie pop of Loner, Superstar and The Art of Forgetting. Their best-known songs include “Soul No. 5,” “Feel the Way I Want” and “Miami.” In 2018, Rose performed songs from Loner with a backing band for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk series. Tours behind Loner and Superstar brought the group to clubs and festivals, while the 2023 run for The Art of Forgetting included shows at Thalia Hall in Chicago and Revolution Hall in Portland.
