Mohsen Namjoo in Edmonds

Mohsen Namjoo is an Iranian singer-songwriter and setar player, born in 1976 in Torbat-e Jam. He is known for setting classical Persian poetry and his own lyrics to music shaped by Persian tradition, blues, rock and jazz. His best-known albums include Toranj, Oy and 13/8. His 2011 Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music presented his voice and setar in an intimate setting. He later toured with accompanying musicians and brought his repertoire to Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Barbican in London.
