The Microphones in Seattle

The Microphones is an American recording project begun by songwriter and producer Phil Elverum in Olympia, Washington, in 1996. Its lo-fi indie rock, experimental folk and tape-based sound is represented by albums including It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water, The Glow Pt. 2 and Mount Eerie. In 2019, The Microphones returned for a performance at What the Heck Fest in Anacortes after Elverum had worked mainly under the Mount Eerie name since 2003. In 2022, Phil Elverum toured North America under the revived name and performed The Microphones in 2020 in full.
