About Molly Johnson
Molly Johnson is a Canadian singer-songwriter, born in Toronto in 1959, whose music draws on vocal jazz, soul and blues. She first became known as the lead singer of Alta Moda and Infidels before establishing a solo career through albums including Another Day, Messin’ Around, Lucky and the Billie Holiday tribute Because of Billie.
In the 1990s, Molly Johnson founded and hosted Kumbaya, an annual benefit concert supporting people living with HIV/AIDS. She later brought her solo jazz repertoire to international stages, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.
