Molotov is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 1995. Its music combines rap-rock, funk and metal, often using satirical lyrics in Spanish and English. The debut album ¿Dónde Jugarán las Niñas? introduced songs including “Gimme Tha Power” and “Puto,” while “Frijolero” became another of the band’s best-known tracks. In 1997, Molotov opened for U2 at Foro Sol during the PopMart Tour. The band later performed at Coachella and returned for multiple editions of Vive Latino, establishing festivals as a major part of its live history. The 2018 concert project MTV Unplugged: El Desconecte presented rearranged versions of its catalogue. Molotov performs as a four-piece rock band whose arrangements frequently feature two bass guitars. Lead vocals are shared among Tito Fuentes, Micky Huidobro, Paco Ayala and Randy Ebright.
