Monkey Majik is a Japanese-Canadian pop-rock band formed in Sendai in 2000. Its lineup features brothers Maynard and Blaise Plant alongside drummer Tax and bassist Dick. The band is known for bilingual English and Japanese lyrics and songs including “Fly,” “Around the World” and “Sora wa Marude”; “Around the World” was used for the television drama Saiyuki, while “Eden” appeared in the anime series Fruits Basket. Monkey Majik performed at Summer Sonic in 2006 and subsequently toured throughout Japan. In 2015, the band marked its 15th anniversary with Live at Budokan, a concert at Nippon Budokan.
