MONO NO AWARE is a Japanese indie-rock band formed in 2013 by musicians including childhood friends from Hachijojima. The group is known for guitar-led songs shaped by playful Japanese wordplay; its catalog includes “Tokyo” and the albums AHA and Kakegae no Nai Mono. After appearing on the Rookie A Go-Go stage at Fuji Rock Festival in 2016, the band won the audience vote and returned to the event’s main program the following year.
