Monolord & Khemmis in Hamtramck

Monolord are a Swedish doom-metal trio formed in Gothenburg in 2013. Their debut album, Empress Rising, introduced the long title track that became a signature song, while Vænir, Rust, No Comfort and Your Time to Shine developed their slow, heavily distorted sound. Monolord played Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and performed at Desertfest in both London and Berlin. The trio later appeared at Freak Valley Festival, where Rockpalast filmed their full set.

Khemmis is an American doom metal band formed in Denver in 2012. Heavy riffs, twin-guitar melodies and a mix of clean and harsh vocals shape albums including Absolution, Hunted, Desolation and Deceiver. In 2022, Khemmis opened for Opeth and Mastodon on their North American co-headlining tour. Later that year, the band led its own North American run supported by Conjurer and Wake.
