Monolord & Mars Red Sky in Brno

Monolord are a Swedish doom-metal trio formed in Gothenburg in 2013. Their debut album, Empress Rising, introduced the long title track that became a signature song, while Vænir, Rust, No Comfort and Your Time to Shine developed their slow, heavily distorted sound. Monolord played Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and performed at Desertfest in both London and Berlin. The trio later appeared at Freak Valley Festival, where Rockpalast filmed their full set.

Mars Red Sky are a French heavy psychedelic rock band formed in Bordeaux in 2007. Their slow riffs, dense fuzz and melodic vocals are established on the 2011 self-titled debut and later albums including Stranded in Arcadia, Apex III (Praise for the Burning Soul) and The Task Eternal; “Strong Reflection” is among their best-known songs. Mars Red Sky performed at Roadburn Festival during their early album years and went on to play Hellfest and Desertfest events. Those appearances sit alongside extensive club touring around Europe, where the band presents the same guitar-heavy material in a full electric set. The live arrangement centres on guitar, bass and drums, with lead vocals and guitar handled by Julien Pras.
