Monsieur Periné in Bogotá

Monsieur Periné is a Colombian band formed in Bogotá in 2007, led by singer Catalina García and multi-instrumentalist Santiago Prieto. They play Latin pop informed by swing, jazz and Colombian rhythms. The group is known for songs including “Nuestra Canción” and “Bailar Contigo,” as well as the albums Caja de Música and Encanto Tropical; it received the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist. Monsieur Periné played Rock al Parque in Bogotá and later Vive Latino in Mexico City. In 2016, the band appeared at Bonnaroo in Tennessee and performed a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR in Washington, D.C., where “Nuestra Canción” was part of the set.
