Murat Karahan in Ankara

Murat Karahan is a Turkish operatic tenor, born in Ankara in 1977, known chiefly for dramatic Italian repertoire. His principal roles include Calaf in Puccini’s Turandot, Manrico in Verdi’s Il trovatore and Radamès in Aida; “Nessun dorma” is closely associated with his concert appearances. Murat Karahan began his professional stage career at Ankara State Opera and Ballet and later became a principal soloist at Latvian National Opera. His international engagements have included Calaf and Manrico at the Arena di Verona, Calaf at the Vienna State Opera and Manrico at the Royal Opera House.
