My Life Story in London

My Life Story are an English orchestral pop band formed in London by singer-songwriter Jake Shillingford. Their string- and brass-led sound became associated with 1990s Britpop, particularly through the albums Mornington Crescent and The Golden Mile and the songs “12 Reasons Why,” “Sparkle” and “The King of Kissingdom.” The 12-piece lineup toured Britain during the 1990s and performed at Glastonbury Festival and Reading Festival. After later reunion concerts, the band returned to touring around the album World Citizen, including headline dates in London.
