Napalm Death & Misery Index in Vienna

Napalm Death are an English grindcore band formed in Meriden in 1981. Their combination of hardcore punk intensity, extreme-metal weight and politically charged lyrics became closely associated with the genre through the debut album Scum, the follow-up From Enslavement to Obliteration and the seconds-long song “You Suffer.” The 1989 Grindcrusher tour took Napalm Death around the UK with Carcass, Bolt Thrower and Morbid Angel. Their Campaign for Musical Destruction package tours later became a recurring part of their European live work, while the band also appeared at major festivals. In 2017, they performed on the Truth Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Misery Index is an American death-metal band formed in Baltimore in 2001. Its music draws on grindcore and hardcore punk, pairing political and social lyrics with tightly compressed songwriting. The band is known for albums including Retaliate, Traitors, Heirs to Thievery, Rituals of Power and Complete Control. Following Retaliate, Misery Index took its full-band performances through clubs in North America and Europe. Festival appearances later included Maryland Deathfest, Hellfest and Obscene Extreme.
