Naples Philharmonic Orchestra & James Ehnes in East Naples

James Ehnes is a Canadian violinist, born in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1976. He is known for a wide concerto and chamber repertoire. His recording of the Barber, Korngold and Walton violin concertos with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and conductor Bramwell Tovey won a Grammy Award; his catalogue also includes Bach’s solo sonatas and partitas and Beethoven’s violin sonatas with pianist Andrew Armstrong. James Ehnes has performed as a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He has also given recitals at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall, while his chamber work includes the Ehnes Quartet and artistic direction of the Seattle Chamber Music Society.
