Nena in Frankfurt am Main

Nena is a German pop-rock singer, born Gabriele Susanne Kerner in Hagen in 1960, and the former frontwoman of the band also called Nena. She became known through “99 Luftballons,” later recorded in English as “99 Red Balloons,” as well as songs including “Nur geträumt,” “Leuchtturm” and “Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann.” Her early releases include the albums Nena and Feuer und Flamme. The original Nena band toured Europe and Japan during its 1980s success. As a solo artist, she returned to major concert halls on the Made in Germany Tour in 2010, then marked 40 years on stage with the Nichts versäumt Tour in 2018. Most of Nena’s concerts take place in the German-speaking market. Beyond extensive dates in Germany, she performs in Austria and Switzerland, including concerts in Vienna and Zurich.
