Nicko McBrain is an English heavy-metal drummer, born in London in 1952 and best known as a member of Iron Maiden. After playing with the Pat Travers Band and Trust, he joined Iron Maiden in 1982. His first album with the group was Piece of Mind, which opens with his prominent drum introduction to “Where Eagles Dare.” The World Piece Tour in 1983 was Nicko McBrain’s first full concert run with Iron Maiden. On the World Slavery Tour, he played the Long Beach Arena shows recorded for Live After Death and the band’s 1985 Rock in Rio appearance. He later took part in the Legacy of the Beast tour before playing his final concert as Iron Maiden’s touring drummer at Allianz Parque in São Paulo in 2024.
