About Nigel Kennedy

Nigel Kennedy is a British violinist, born in Brighton in 1956, whose work encompasses classical music and jazz. He is especially known for his 1989 recording of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, while The Kennedy Experience recast music by Jimi Hendrix for violin and ensemble.

In 1992, Kennedy withdrew from public performance and returned to the concert stage in 1997. At the 2013 BBC Proms, he performed The Four Seasons at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the Palestine Strings and members of his Orchestra of Life.
