Nilüfer in Bursa

Nilüfer is a Turkish pop singer, born in Istanbul in 1955, whose recording career began in the 1970s. Her catalogue includes “Dünya Dönüyor,” “Kar Taneleri,” “Mor Menekşe” and “Başıma Gelenler,” while the album 12 Düet revisited established songs through collaborations with other Turkish performers. At the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest in Paris, she performed “Sevince” as part of the group Nazar. Her later concert work has included appearances at Istanbul’s Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre, a venue closely associated with major summer concerts in the city.
