Hello Seahorse! & Kinky in Mexico City

Hello Seahorse! is a Mexican indie-rock and dream-pop band formed in Mexico City in 2005. Fronted by Denise Gutiérrez, the group became known through the album Bestia and songs including “Bestia,” “No Es Que No Te Quiera” and “La Flotadera,” followed by records such as Lejos. No tan lejos and Arunima. Hello Seahorse! performed at Coachella in 2010 and has made repeated appearances at Vive Latino. The band later brought its full live lineup to a headline concert at Auditorio Nacional.

Kinky is a Mexican band formed in Monterrey in 1998. The group plays electronic rock with funk, dance and Latin rhythms, and became known through its self-titled debut album and songs including “Más,” “A dónde van los muertos” and “Soun Tha Mi Primer Amor.” Kinky played Coachella in 2004 during the US touring that followed the debut album. The musicians perform as a full band, combining vocals, guitar, bass and percussion with keyboards and electronic programming, and they have returned repeatedly to Mexico City for Vive Latino.
