Nouvelle Vague is a French musical collective formed in 2003 by producers Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. The project recasts punk and new-wave songs in bossa nova and lounge arrangements led by female voices. Its self-titled debut includes versions of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” Depeche Mode’s “Just Can’t Get Enough” and The Clash’s “The Guns of Brixton.” A concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall was filmed and released as Nouvelle Vague at the Royal Albert Hall. The performance documents the group’s touring format: a live band and several singers taking turns at the microphone, including Mélanie Pain and Nadeah Miranda. The group has also performed at England’s Glastonbury Festival and Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival.
