Artists
Obscura is a German technical death metal band founded in Landshut in 2002 by guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer. The group is known for intricate guitar writing, fretless-bass passages and the albums Cosmogenesis, Omnivium, Akroasis, Diluvium and A Valediction. Obscura joined Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus on the European Evisceration Plague tour in 2009. A decade later, the Diluvium Europa tour placed the band at the head of a package featuring Fallujah, Allegaeon and First Fragment. The group followed it with the A Valediction European tour, accompanied by Persefone and Disillusion.
Pestilence are a Dutch death-metal band formed in Enschede in 1986 and led by guitarist and vocalist Patrick Mameli. Malleus Maleficarum and Consuming Impulse established their thrash-rooted death metal, while Testimony of the Ancients and Spheres introduced more technical and progressive writing. In 1990, Pestilence toured Europe on Death’s Spiritual Healing tour alongside Carcass. Their 1992 set at Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven was later included on the live album Chronicles of the Scourge.
