The Ocean Blue in Concord

The Ocean Blue is an American alternative pop band formed in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in 1986. Its guitar-led dream pop and new wave sound became known through the self-titled debut album, Cerulean and songs including “Between Something and Nothing,” “Drifting, Falling” and “Ballerina Out of Control.” The Ocean Blue toured behind its Sire albums during the late 1980s and 1990s, then returned to concert work after a lengthy hiatus. Shows around the release of Ultramarine in 2013 brought the group back to clubs and theatres, and in 2019 it marked the debut album’s 30th anniversary by performing the record in full. The concerts use a full-band lineup centered on singer and guitarist David Schelzel.
