Olaf Schubert is the stage persona of German comedian and musician Michael Haubold, who was born in Plauen in 1967 and is closely associated with Dresden. He is known for the character’s argyle sweater vest, deadpan pseudo-philosophical monologues, appearances on heute-show and the television series Olaf TV. Meine Kämpfe began a sequence of touring theatre programmes that also included So! and Sexy Forever. He presents the character through comic monologues and songs performed on guitar, a format he carried into Zeit für Rebellen.
