Sjava in Durban

Sjava is a South African singer, rapper and actor born Jabulani Hadebe in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal, in 1983. He performs Afro-soul and hip-hop in isiZulu, drawing on maskandi and contemporary R&B. His debut album, Isina Muva, introduced songs including “Uthando,” while Umqhele featured “Umama”; he also recorded “Seasons” with Mozzy and Reason for Black Panther: The Album. In 2019, Sjava staged One Night with Sjava at Sun Arena in Pretoria, performing with a live band and invited vocalists. He brought the concert to KwaZulu-Natal in 2020 for a performance at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.
