Omid Djalili is a British-Iranian stand-up comedian and actor, born in London in 1965. His comedy draws on Iranian heritage, family life and cultural stereotypes, while his screen work includes The Omid Djalili Show and roles in Gladiator and The Mummy. Omid Djalili took Short, Fat Kebab Shop Owner’s Son to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995. He went on to tour UK theatres with No Agenda and Iranalamadingdong. Schmuck for a Night followed, and he later returned to theatres with Good Times.
