Oro Solido is a Dominican-American merengue group formed by bandleader Raúl Acosta in 1994. The group is known for fast, percussion-led songs including “Ta’ Caché,” “La Tanguita Roja,” “Chicharrón” and “Abusadora.” Oro Solido performed with a full merengue orchestra at dance venues and Latin music events in the United States and the Dominican Republic. Its concert history was rooted in New York and also reached audiences in Santo Domingo.
