Kazufumi Miyazawa in Meguro

Kazufumi Miyazawa is a Japanese singer-songwriter, born in Kofu in 1966, who became known as the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of The Boom. His best-known songs include “Shima Uta” and “Kaze ni Naritai,” and his work ranges across rock, pop and music shaped by Okinawan and Brazilian traditions. He has also recorded as a solo artist and led the band Ganga Zumba. The Boom ended its concert career at Nippon Budokan in 2014, where Miyazawa led the group’s farewell performance. His subsequent solo work has included a 30th-anniversary concert at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo.
