Ovall in Fukuoka

Ovall is a Japanese trio whose jazz-rooted music draws on hip-hop, soul and R&B. Bassist Shingo Suzuki, drummer and vocalist mabanua, and guitarist Shingo Sekiguchi established the group’s sound on the albums DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS THAT and Heart Fever, then returned with the self-titled album Ovall. The trio built its live history at Japanese events including Fuji Rock Festival and Summer Sonic. After beginning a hiatus in 2013, Ovall resumed activity in 2017 and returned to concert stages; its festival appearances have also included Greenroom Festival.
