Pachyman in Auckland

Pachyman is the solo project of Puerto Rican musician and producer Pachy García, based in Los Angeles. He makes dub, reggae and rocksteady shaped by vintage Jamaican studio techniques, playing and recording much of the music himself. His releases include The Return of Pachyman, At 333 House, The End of an Era and Switched-On, while “Sale el Sol” and “Big Energy” are among his best-known tracks. A Tiny Desk Concert for NPR presented the studio-built project as a live ensemble. A filmed session at KEXP also documented the group playing the dub arrangements in real time, centered on the instrumental work and mixing of Pachy García.
