Paloma San Basilio in Aranda de Duero

Paloma San Basilio is a Spanish singer and actress, born in Madrid in 1950, whose repertoire centers on melodic pop and Latin ballads. She is known for songs including “Juntos,” “Cariño mío” and “La fiesta terminó,” as well as her performance of “No llores por mí, Argentina” in the musical Evita. In 1980, she took the title role in the Spanish-language production of Evita at Teatro Monumental. She later performed “La fiesta terminó” for Spain at the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest in Gothenburg, then returned to musical theatre in El hombre de La Mancha alongside José Sacristán.
