Artist
Panzerballett is a German jazz-metal band formed in Munich in 2004 by guitarist and composer Jan Zehrfeld. The group is known for rhythmically intricate instrumental music and tightly arranged versions of pieces such as “Take Five,” “Birdland” and the theme from The Simpsons. Its albums include Starke Stücke, Hart Genossen von Abba bis Zappa and Xmas Death Jazz. The concert recording Live at Backstage Munich documents the guitar-led ensemble performing with saxophone, bass and drums. Panzerballett has also carried this format into contrasting festival settings, including Wacken Open Air and Leverkusener Jazztage.
