About Papon
Papon is an Indian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist from Assam whose work spans Assamese folk and contemporary music as well as Hindi film playback. Born Angaraag Mahanta, he is known for “Jiyein Kyun” from Dum Maaro Dum, “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage” from Dum Laga Ke Haisha and “Bulleya” from Sultan.
Papon has performed at Glastonbury Festival and NH7 Weekender, presenting Assamese songs alongside material from his Hindi film career. His band concerts feature his lead vocal and the musicians of Papon and The East India Company.
