Patti LuPone in Ridgefield

Patti LuPone is an American actress and singer, born in 1949, whose career is centered on musical theatre. She originated Eva Perón in the Broadway production of Evita and Fantine in the London production of Les Misérables, and later played Rose in Gypsy and Joanne in Company. Her performances in Evita, Gypsy and Company each received a Tony Award. As a founding member of The Acting Company, she toured the United States in classical repertory early in her career. In 1979 she opened in Evita at the Broadway Theatre; decades later, she led the 2008 revival of Gypsy at the St. James Theatre and appeared in the revival of Company at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Her stage and concert work has been concentrated in the United States and the United Kingdom, while A Life in Notes also reached Arts Centre Melbourne and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
