Pepe Willberg in Hämeenlinna

Pepe Willberg is a Finnish singer, born in Turku in 1946, whose career spans pop, rock and iskelmä. He first became known through The Islanders and Jormas, later fronted Pepe & Paradise, and built a solo repertoire that includes “Aamu” and “Saat miehen kyyneliin.” The album Pepe & Saimaa paired his voice with arrangements by the band Saimaa. In the 1960s, he performed with The Islanders and Jormas before establishing Pepe & Paradise in the following decade. The 2014 collaboration with Saimaa brought those orchestral pop arrangements into concerts, and in 2016 he marked his 70th birthday with a large anniversary show in Helsinki at Hartwall Arena.
