Peter Cornelius is an Austrian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Vienna in 1951. He won ORF’s Show-Chance talent contest in 1973, and the Michael Cretu-produced album Der Kaffee ist fertig followed in 1980. His catalogue includes Zwei, Reif für die Insel and the song “Du entschuldige, i kenn di.” He received Austria’s Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic in 2022. He later joined a production of Hair that played Hamburg and Berlin. His live releases document performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus and Donauinselfest.
