Peter Doherty in Strasbourg

Peter Doherty is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Hexham in 1979. He co-founded The Libertines with Carl Barât and later fronted Babyshambles. His best-known work includes The Libertines’ “Don’t Look Back into the Sun” and “Can’t Stand Me Now,” Babyshambles’ “Fuck Forever,” and the solo album Grace/Wastelands. In 2008, he played a solo concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The Libertines’ 2014 reunion then brought him to Hyde Park, and in 2022 he toured with Frédéric Lo following their collaborative album The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime. He has performed at Glastonbury Festival with both The Libertines and Babyshambles. Babyshambles also appeared at Reading Festival and its sister event, Leeds Festival.
