Artist
Philipp Fankhauser is a Swiss blues singer, guitarist and songwriter, born in Thun in 1964. He founded the Checkerboard Blues Band and later established a solo catalogue that includes Watching from the Safe Side, Love Man Riding and Try My Love, drawing on electric blues, soul and blues rock. In the 1990s, he played guitar in Texas bluesman Johnny Copeland’s touring band, gaining sustained experience on American stages. He subsequently toured under his own name with a full band and appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival, while Swiss performances have included concerts at Mühle Hunziken in Rubigen.
