Pond are an Australian psychedelic rock band formed in Perth in 2008. Their catalogue moves between guitar-heavy psychedelia, synth-pop and indie rock, with albums including Beard, Wives, Denim, Man It Feels Like Space Again and The Weather. “Giant Tortoise” and “Paint Me Silver” are among their best-known songs, and several members have also played with Tame Impala. In 2014, Pond opened for Arctic Monkeys on an Australian tour. Their own tours behind The Weather and Tasmania subsequently took the full band through clubs, theatres and festivals, including Glastonbury Festival and Primavera Sound. Pond headline clubs and theatres in the United States and the United Kingdom. The band has played both Los Angeles and London.
Tommy Newport is a British singer-songwriter and producer, born in Manchester and raised in the United States. He makes indie pop shaped by funk and psychedelic rock, and became known through songs including “Millionaire” and “Bubblegum” and the album Just to Be Ironic. Tommy Newport recorded an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, performing material from Just to Be Ironic in a live-band arrangement at NPR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.
