Popeda & Neljä Ruusua in xIkaalinen

Popeda is a Finnish rock band formed in Tampere in 1977. Its direct rock-and-roll sound grew from punk, and longtime singer Pate Mustajärvi became the voice of songs including “Ukkometso,” “Kuuma kesä” and “Pitkä kuuma kesä.” The Haista Popeda! farewell tour travelled around Finland in 2023 and ended Pate Mustajärvi’s tenure with a final concert at Ratina Stadium. Popeda later resumed performing after Olli Herman took over as lead singer.

Neljä Ruusua is a Finnish rock band formed in Joensuu in 1982. Its guitar rock and electronic pop are represented by songs including “Juppihippipunkkari,” “Poplaulajan vapaapäivä” and “Hunningolla,” as well as the albums Hyvää päivää, Pop-Uskonto and Haloo. After beginning a hiatus in 2007, Neljä Ruusua returned to the stage at Ilosaarirock in 2011. A 30th-anniversary concert year followed in 2012, and the group marked 40 years with another anniversary tour in 2022. The concert format is a full-band performance fronted by singer and guitarist Ilkka Alanko.
