Poppy Ackroyd in Bielefeld

Poppy Ackroyd is a British composer and multi-instrumentalist who writes instrumental contemporary classical music for piano and violin. Her solo catalogue includes the albums Escapement, Feathers, Resolve and Pause, whose layered compositions also draw on ambient and electronic textures. Her solo concerts present this material through piano, violin and live looping. She has also toured on both instruments with Hidden Orchestra, the ensemble led by composer and bassist Joe Acheson.
